Abzena is proudly opening a brand new, state of the art manufacturing facility in Sanford, NC. The Global Supply Chain department is seeking a highly motivated Buyer I, dependent on experience, to join their Global Supply Chain Team to support multiple tasks within the procurement function in support of client projects and corporate activities. Focus areas include coordination of quotes, issuing purchase orders to suppliers, tracking open orders, and resolution of order issues.

Responsibilities 
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Works with Accounts Payable on supplier invoice issues or discrepancies.
Ensures compliance with purchasing policies, GMP requirements, and ethics guidelines.
Supports requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) processes for new spend areas.
Conducts product, price, and lead time research to assist internal stakeholders.
Helps identify actual and potential delivery issues. Expedites materials or identifies alternatives, as needed, to meet production and inventory targets and ensuring there are no production shortages.
Acts as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement-related problems.
Communicates order issues (delays, backorders, damage, etc.) with internal customers.
Ensures accurate and timely entry of all ERP/Coupa purchasing parameters.
Issues Purchase Orders (PO) to suppliers through ERP, Coupa software, vendor catalogs, email, and phone.
Reviews and analyzes daily MRP data for materials, equipment, and services requisitions.

Must-Have Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in procurement.
  • 1 year minimum experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Understanding of leading ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, Infor, IFS). IFS preferred.
  • Potential to learn procure-to-pay software (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer). Coupa preferred.
  • Desire to experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility.
  • Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and finish projects and tasks within deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and adaptable.

Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and ability to focus.
