Abzena is proudly opening a brand new, state of the art manufacturing facility in Sanford, NC. We are seeking a Materials Control Coordinator 1 to join our Materials Management team.

  • Coordinate receipt of incoming materials. Check materials received against vendor shipping documents and purchase orders for accuracy. 
  • Analyze and monitor inventory and material request. Ensure traceability of material and/or parts. 
  • Support and work within the Quality Management System, comply with all documentation needs, practices and Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Update and monitor daily movement of parts providing information to appropriate personnel regarding back order of critical scheduled material. Maintain all production control records. 
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials as required for designated production areas, Product Development and engineering projects. 
  • Ensure completion of physical inventory counts and prepare lists of obsolete and excess quantities of stock components. 
  • Examine incoming stock to identify parts requiring Quality Assurance inspect and release. Coordinate with Quality Control personnel, ensuring timely receiving inspection of materials. 
  • Ensure damaged or excess goods are processed through quality assurance and/or department head. Review and drive activities related to management of excess and obsolescence materials and provide reports to the management team. 
  • Responsible for Packing materials according to procedure, which includes handling packing supplies, corrugated boxes, coolers, cold packs and dry ice. Prepare import/export shipping documents and coordinate international shipments. 
  • Provide cycle counts and Inventory Control for the material stored in laboratory ambient and temperature-controlled storage areas. 
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to jointly resolve any supplier invoice issues or discrepancies. • Maintain organization of work areas through 6S (sort, straighten, standardize, shine, sustain, safety). 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent.  
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with materials control coordination.  Preferred minimum one (1) year experience working in a Quality Assurance environment.  
  • Ability to understand test plans and documents. 
  • Skill communicating effectively with all members of the manufacturing and testing teams. 
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the manufacturing and biologic environment.  
  • Skill with attention to detail.
